Hypnotherapy Surrey
On 4 January 2021 the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced that England would go into a national lockdown with effect from midnight that night. The Government published relevant guidance on the lockdown requirements. Under the section ‘Businesses and venues which can remain open’ it states: “The full list of these businesses can be found in the guidance on closing certain businesses and venues in England.”
The businesses that can remain open include “dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and other medical or health services, including services relating to mental health.” Under the legal advice we obtained during the November 2020 national lockdown in England, CNHC Registrants in England meet the definition of “other…health services, including services relating to mental health” contained in Section 17(o), Schedule 3A of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) Regulations 2020. The amended legislation on which Parliament voted today made no changes that section of the Regulations.
This means, as a CNHC Registrant, you can continue to practise in England during the current restrictions if you meet the criteria set out below.
In order to stay within the remit of providing “other…health services, including services relating to mental health”:
• You must only provide the therapies you are registered for, on a one-to-one basis to clients, for an identified mental or physical health condition or injury that is causing them pain or having an adverse impact on their mobility or their quality of life.
• You must be able to evidence that your therapeutic intervention is supporting your client with their condition. You can do this by recording their health condition and giving a clear rationale in your client’s care record for the treatment that you are providing,
• You cannot provide treatment to a client in their own home unless you have received a direct referral from a statutory regulated health professional.
• If your practice is based in your own home you can continue to work from there as long as it is COVID-secure. You can find our advice on following government guidance on working safely here.
We cannot stress enough the severity of the situation we are now in, with a surge in infection rates of the highly transmissible new variant of COVID-19 placing increasing pressure on the NHS. You must exercise the utmost caution and exercise your professional judgment in assessing the risks. You must carry out and record a risk assessment on whether the benefits of seeing a client in person outweighs the risks. Practise remotely where you can and follow our advice on following government guidance on working safely which you can find here.
If you are contacted by your local authority and asked why you are open during the lockdown, you can show or forward this email to them and/or ask them to contact us at info@cnhc.org.uk

If You Decide To Address The HPD - The Following Will Be relevant To You  Your Next Hypnotherapy Course Starts February 26th & 27th 2022. Start Your New Career Book Today

HPD Now Stand For - Hypnotherapy In Practice Diploma (HPD)
The Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma syllabus consists of 120 hours attended practice. The therapeutic interventions taught are evidence based interventions within a structured course.
You are required to practice between training weekends and address the Learning Outcomes over a period of 10 months, if you would like to take longer completing the Learning Outcome questions, you are welcome to do so.
This course is designed to be a structured, practical evidenced based course, held by the principal and developer of the course. The quality of any lecture is largely dependent on the experience and knowledge of the lecturer, this is not a franchised course with inexperienced lecturers, you will be working with a therapist with 40 years clinical experience.
When we are together at the weekends, this allows us to focus on the approaches that will help you to be successful within the practice, not just the class room.
We do not fill your course time with theoretical content and history, which is covered within the Learning Outcomes.
You can down load the Learning Outcomes (LO) to the right.

The reason this approach is successful, we have yet to meet a client who wants to spend time talking about the theory, history and the progress of hypnotherapy.
We are offering the practical experience you will need to build a practice, your confidence to practice will come from practising the interventions taught, theory will not change your client.
However, we recognise that your practical ability is difficult to gauge for your governing body assessment, authority bodies rely on your intellectual understanding of the subject, which can be more easily assessed, to offer recognition and qualification.
As our training weekends are practically based, from clinical experience to offer you the skills to build your practice, we have little need to fill valuable face to face training time with the theoretical understanding of therapy. The theoretical understanding is addressed within the Learning Outcomes for the HPD, if you wish to complete the HPD, which is apart from our weekends together.
Please download the HPD short questions & vignettes to accompany the revised learning outcomes document, which you may use to complete your portfolios.

Complementary & Natural Health Care Registration

Taken from the CNHC website:
We were set up by the government to protect the public. We do this by providing a UK register of complementary health practitioners. Protection of the public is our sole purpose.
We set the standards that practitioners need to meet to get onto and then stay on the register. All CNHC registrants have agreed to be bound by the highest standards of conduct and have registered voluntarily. All of them are professionally trained and fully insured to practise.
We investigate complaints about alleged breaches of our Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance. We impose disciplinary sanctions that mirror those of the statutory healthcare regulators.
We make the case to government and a wide range of organisations for the use of complementary healthcare to enhance the UK’s health and wellbeing. We raise awareness of complementary healthcare and seek to influence policy wherever possible to increase access to the disciplines we register.
CNHC is also the holder of an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament.
We register complementary health practitioners from the following sixteen professions: Alexander Technique teaching; Aromatherapy; Bowen Therapy; Colon Hydrotherapy, Craniosacral Therapy; Healing; Hypnotherapy; Massage Therapy; Microsystems Acupuncture; Naturopathy; Nutritional Therapy; Reflexology; Reiki; Shiatsu; Sports Therapy; Yoga Therapy.
In February 2013 CNHC published an account of its First Five Years
To be eligible to register with CNHC you must meet the following criteria:
Have undertaken a programme of education and training which meets, as a minimum, the National Occupational Standards and the core curriculum for the discipline concerned.
Please note, courses delivered entirely by distance learning do not meet CNHC requirements.
The benefits of registering with CNHC include:
CNHC registration brings a wide range of benefits - but most importantly shows to the public that you uphold high standards of practice in your work.
Being registered builds trust with your clients, health providers and the public by demonstrating that you “Stand up for Standards.”
Private health cash plans
CNHC registration is recognised for reimbursement with a number of private health cash plan providers. This means that clients who are members of the relevant plans can claim for the cost of the treatments when they visit CNHC registered complementary therapists.
Listing on an Accredited Register
CNHC is approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament. This provides additional assurance that CNHC registrants meet UK-wide standards of patient safety and service quality.
